U.S. financial markets traded to new highs today, but did back off those peaks by mid-morning. This has been the biggest five-day rally since 2009. Like corn, wheat seemed to be at the mercy of what was occurring in the soy complex. General Comments Markets were quiet overnight in light volume. The soybean market, however, changed that trend early this morning when another round of fund buying, although in light volume, appeared. It was then off to the races with January soybean futures trading as much as 20 cents higher at one point.
