There was more chatter about the potential for some move by the Russian government to restrict wheat exports. General Comments The U.S. Dollar Index roared to a new high, and this set up commodity markets including grains and the soy complex for a general price lashing. Without any change in its bearish fundamental outlook, NYMEX crude oil gave back almost all of Monday's gains with the January contract falling back below $67. Precious and industrial metals fell with gold off more than $20. Cotton, sugar and cocoa were down.
