Corn steadily lost ground today on fund selling and some expectations that farmers will have to sell some bushels as the corn harvest starts to gain some momentum. Unlike the soybean harvest reports, corn yields are generally being reported as not as good as expected. General Comments Markets started mixed last night with soybeans firm while corn and wheat were slightly easier. Pre-opening calls were lower based on improved weather forecasts that looked drier across the Corn Belt. That would of course allow quicker harvest progress. The markets weakened further overnight and traded lower all day today with corn, soybeans and wheat all finishing with moderate losses.
