Open interest in corn, soybeans and wheat futures were all higher following yesterday’s activity, which suggests that noncommercials were adding to short positions. Meanwhile, the weekly USDA/FAS export sales report showed volumes that were larger than expected General Comments Slow overnight trade in grain and soy futures found prices on both sides of Wednesday’s close but showing basically very little change. In contrast to yesterday, Asian markets did not provide much inspiration today. Malaysian palm oil retreated just a little and closed down 6 ringgits, which left most of yesterday’s big rally intact.
