Small-scale liquidation continued in overnight trade, although trading volume declined from recent overnight sessions. Price changes were minimal, but after some back and forth movement, they trended slightly lower pretty much across the board by the trading recess this morning. After the halfway mark of the day session, though, that trend reversed with prices working a bit higher under the leadership of wheat. After due consideration, wheat traders apparently decided that yesterday afternoon’s USDA crop condition report showing almost half (49 percent) of the winter wheat crop rated poor/very poor was more important than the scattered weekend rains over Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
