The CBOT was mixed to end the week with scant, fresh fundamental news leading to more technically-oriented trade over the past few weeks. Wheat futures were the downside leader as deteriorating chart conditions and China’s recent cancellations of U.S. SRW export bookings weighed on traders’ sentiment. Funds also continue to sell into their already large short position in wheat, which is further pressuring futures. Corn found light support to close the week with hot, dry weather forecast for Brazil next week offsetting weaker technical conditions.
