CBOT markets pulled back hard overnight and followed through on yesterday’s hook reversals. Overnight trading volume was large, and more than 70,000 July corn contracts traded and 42,000 contracts of July soybeans. The heavy overnight trade came after the preliminary CBOT data showed open interest falling 58,000 contracts in corn, 16,000 contracts in soybeans, and 4,500 contracts in Chicago wheat. The weakness early in the overnight session attracted bottom-picking and end-user buying that helped the market stabilize heading into the morning’s open.  The day trading session featured plenty of volatility with markets opening in the red but posting sizeable gains at mid-day.
