Wheat Despite recent rains and improvements in the wheat crop’s overall state, the Rosario Grain Exchange has reduced its production estimate by 600,000 MT, which now stands at a total production of 15 MMT. This is because the area from the center of the Cordoba Province northward and west of Buenos Aires/east of La Pampa remains dry. In about 20 days, farmers should start harvesting the first fields in the northern part of the country, and the market will begin to have yield references and anomalies for each region. Communicating importance of value-added products
Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
