Wheat Argentina’s wheat harvest keeps moving at high speed and advanced 10 percent last week, which put the total harvest above 35 percent of the area. Most fields are being harvested 7-10 days earlier than usual, which is why at this point last year the harvest was only 20 percent complete. There is a sense of optimism as yields are coming slightly above expectations in the most recently harvested areas (including the nucleus region). In fact, the Rosario Grain Exchange is saying that the nucleus region will have 300,000 MT more than what they were expecting weeks ago. Despite these positive developments, however, there is no reason to revise the total crop estimate, which currently sits at 13.5 MMT. There is still a lot left...

The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client.
