Corn Argentine corn basis levels are weaker this week, especially for spot shipments (August and September) where seller's ideas are in the -65 CZ to -70 CZ range. Most trading houses already have goods originated, but they still need to find a home for their products. Last week we reported 20-25 cents/bushel of carry for October shipment. As buyers are sniffing around for these positions, some trading houses started to work on their logistics to sell deferred shipments, mainly October and November.
