Soybeans The Argentine soybean market has been quite boring as far as trading goes. Most traders have been dedicated to issues with executing shipments. The big problem with Argentine soybeans continues to be the protein content, which should be 33.5 percent at minimum. The current protein content is less than 33 percent in Upriver and about 33.5 percent in Necochea and Bahia Blanca.Exporters are trying to find a way to sort these quality issues. Some companies are negotiating a discount with buyers for the lower protein beans; no rejections have been reported thus far. Discounts have reached as much as $6-7/MT.
