The biggest factors in Argentina’s grain markets have been holiday-shortened trading weeks, which have kept things quiet. The port strike is in its 19th day, bringing export logistics to a complete halt. Wheat The wheat harvest is moving quickly, advancing 12.8 percent last week and now covering 80 percent of the planted area. Nearly half the crop is still held by farmers, which is creating serious logistics problems. Silo bags are a great solution, but the cost (roughly $6/MT) is high enough to prohibit some from using them.  Currently, there are 43 vessels waiting to load 1.27 MMT of wheat and the recent arrival of trucks to ports has been near zero.
