Wheat Warm weather is allowing the Argentine wheat harvest to move more quickly now, registering a weekly progress of 13.6 percent last week. Presently, 53 percent of the total wheat area is harvested, running 8 percent behind last year’s pace. The harvest is already finished in the north and center of the agricultural area, which represents roughly 46 percent of this year’s wheat area. Yields in this area were 40-50 percent below the five-year average. Yields are improving, however, as the harvest moves further into the southern parts of the agricultural area.
