News Updates JORDAN AND TUNISIA, NEW EBRD MEMBERS Jordan and Tunisia are the newest members of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and are being considered for EBRD investments in the region. The EBRD had announced in early 2011 that it intended to expand its work beyond Eastern and Central Europe to include investments in North Africa.Both Egypt and Morocco are members and founding members of the EBRD when the bank was formed in 1991, but they had not benefited from bank investments in the past because they were beyond its investment mandate.The EBRD is now expected to invest in all four North African member countries: Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Tunisia.
