News Updates EGYPT COMMENTS The end of Ukrainian wheat exports has been a source of worry in Egypt. Egypt's GASC has several lots of the wheat pending, as do smaller private sector wheat imports. There is great concern that these orders will never be shipped. Thus far it appears Ukraine has no information regarding shipments to Egypt, but one can be certain that those at GASC certainly are in touch with Ukrainian officials. GASC said that it will take a close look at Ukraine as a supplier in future wheat business now that the country's credibility seems to be in question. Communicating importance of value-added products
Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
