The wheat was not damaged by the fire but there was some damage to the silos – total damage to the silos is not yet known. Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire that lasted for several hours. The head of Algeria’s grain purchasing office, OAIC, has been removed from his position due to the “Lithuanian wheat” situation that resulted in 30,000 MT of wheat being declared not fit for human consumption.
