Israel and Turkey are reported by Ukraine to be in discussions regarding FTAs that would cover its grains, oilseeds and agricultural equipment along with fruits and vegetable from those two countries. There is an additional expected benefit to all three nations if these are enacted. Regional Updates MEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST COMMENTS Egypt’s enforcement of a zero tolerance policy regarding ergot in imported wheat could lead to a lack of supply as exporters may not be able to meet this tight requirement. The current standard of 0.05 percent maximum ergot is to be reduced to 0.00 percent, according to agriculture ministry officials.
