Regional Updates MEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA  Morocco is forecast by USDA-FAS to be importing about 4.5 MMT of wheat in 2021/22 – down from 5.4 MMT in 2020/21. The drop is due to the greatly increased wheat production, up from last year’s drought affected production of 2.6 MMT to this year’s forecasted 7.5 MMT. Due to the much better production levels, the ending stocks number for wheat is expected to more than double to 2.4 MMT. Barley too will show a much better production level, jumping from 640,000 MT to 2.8 MMT while imports drop by 200,000 MT to 300,000 MT.
