Regional Updates MEDITERRANEAN/MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA/AFRICA – MEA REGION MEA region grain importers are going to suffer greatly if the Russian action ending the Ukraine grain export corridor continues. Ukraine says that the end to the corridor will affect 218 ships --- 95 that are waiting for inspection and approval in Turkey and need Russian inspectors, 101 vessels waiting to load in Ukraine, and 22 vessels that are loaded and waiting to sail.   Egypt has lowered the value of the Egyptian pound by about 17.5 percent as it has switched to a “durable flexible exchange rate regime”.
