More Biodiesel Despite Duties The EU extended antidumping and countervailing duties on imports of U.S.-produced biodiesel for an additional five years. The penalty can be up to €237/MT and has been in existence since 2009. As a result, U.S. biodiesel sales to Europe plummeted from 1,700 million liters to zero. Nonetheless, the combination of the renewable fuel mandate, tax credits, grants and loan guarantees mean that the U.S. Energy Information agency projects that domestically produced renewable diesel will increase by 160 percent between now and 2024.
