The bulk grain transportation monopoly that exists in Western Australia (WA) through Commodity Bulk Handling (CBH) is coming to an end. The Australian Competition Tribunal ruled against the CBH's appeal of an earlier decision to end the monopoly. The following is a statement from a press release today: "Australian Competition and Consumer Commission chairman Rod Sims said the tribunal's decision meant 'that for the first time since deregulation of wheat export marketing in 2008, growers and marketers in WA will be free to make their own arrangements for transporting grain to port for export.'
