Indian Government Urged to Raise Soybean Price Guarantee An advisory panel to the Indian government is urging the government to raise the guaranteed price paid to farmers for several crops, including soybeans. Specifically, it has urged the minimum price for soybeans be increased by 33 percent and the minimum for peanuts (groundnuts) to be increased by 37 percent. It also wants the guaranteed price for rice and pulses raised by 15.7 percent and 25-30 percent, respectively.The advisory panel says the higher price guarantees are needed because of rising production costs.
