Southeast Asian Ag Sector Surprisingly Optimistic As I mentioned yesterday, this week I am participating in the 9th Annual Southeast Asia Agricultural Cooperators Conference in Thailand. At the meeting are representatives of Southeast Asia's largest animal producing and feed milling companies as well as multinational and regional agricultural trading firms. The companies in attendance collectively purchase over 18 MMT of soybeans and soybean products annually for consumption in Asia.With soybean, soymeal and corn prices trading at record levels as a result of very tight supplies, I expected the mood here to be pessimistic.
