During the first nine months of the calendar year, the EU imported 2.389 MMT (about 702 million gallons) of biodiesel, which equates to an average of 265,444 MT per month. The monthly average for all of 2011 was 231.500 MT per month. While imports slowed in August and September, it is likely that imports for the year will exceed last year's total of 2.778 MMT (about 816.6 million gallons).
