Brazilian Soybean Cargo Headed to the U.S. A Brazilian maritime agency last week issued a ship lineup report that indicated a cargo of approximately 27,000 MT of Brazilian soybeans had sailed from the port of Ilheus for the United States. Most likely the buyer is an East Coast crusher. To my knowledge, the purchase has not been verified. However, it would not surprising because the U.S. East Coast and Southeast are the areas that have the least local supply of soybeans relative to soymeal demand, and crushers there are having to pay the most to get domestic soybeans.
