Argentina's Selective IPR Protection The government of Argentina plans to submit legislation to Congress later this year that would require large farmers to pay royalties to seed companies to use their patented biotech seeds. The government says the law is needed to stop large producers from replanting soybeans seeds without paying compensation to biotech companies in order to boost their yields of soybeans and other crops.
