EU Formally Imposes AD Duties on Biodiesel As expected, the EU today formally imposed anti-dumping duties on biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia. Effective Wednesday, the duties rates will be 6.8-10.6 percent for imports from Argentina and between zero and 9.6 percent for those from Indonesia. The EU is conducting a parallel investigation of whether the biodiesel imports are being subsidized by the differential export taxes (DETs) imposed on vegoils and biodiesel by both Argentina and Indonesia. That investigation is expected to end by early December. Argentina already has complained to the WTO that the EU duties are illegal under WTO rules, and Indonesia likely may do so as well.
