South America Soy Headed to the U.S. Last week there were reports from Brazil that eight to 10 cargoes of soybeans and/or soymeal had been booked to ship to the United States. Thus far, all that I can verify is two shipments. A shipment of 28,525 MT of Brazilian soybeans is on its way or has arrived in the port of Norfolk, North Carolina for the benefit of Perdue Farms. And a maritime firm (Cargonave) in Brazil says the ship Kapatan Trader I has been nominated by Cargill to carry a vessel of 53,000 MT of Brazilian soybeans from Paranagua to Wilmington, North Carolina.
