Argentine Farmers Considering Sales Stoppage as Protest Argentina's farm groups are considering implementing a strike in the next couple of months during which they will cease sales of soybeans, corn and other commodities. Contrary to some rumors in Chicago that the strike was imminent, a spokesperson for the Argentine Rural Society said the strike will occur some weeks in the future. The strike would be held to protest the government's continued assessment of high export taxes on soybeans, corn and wheat as well as the export restrictions on corn and wheat.
