One must question why the government allows U.S. biodiesel blenders to capture the tax credit for exported biodiesel when the objective of the blender credit has been to reduce U.S. energy dependence. U.S. Soybean Export Sales at 96.4 Percent of USDA Forecast USDA raised its forecast on Tuesday for U.S. soybean exports in 2013/14 by 25 million bushels to 1.475 billion bushels (40.14 MMT). The increase clearly was justified based on the reality that sales had reached 95 percent of USDA's forecast for all of 2013/14. However, yesterday's USDA export sales report indicated U.S. exporters sold an additional 1.1086 MMT (40.73 million bushels) of soybeans last week. Illuminating the value of technical research

On behalf of a commodity producer organization, WPI evaluated the outputs from a project that featured a $5 million investment into technical research over multiple years. WPI’s team captured the results of this extensive effort and synthesized them for presentation to the organization’s governing board; among the findings uncovered and presented for the first time was the development of genomic traits proven, via rigorous testing, to provide crop yield advantages of 50 percent or more to U.S. farmers in times of drought. Capturing measurable results from long-term efforts can be challenging. Educating clients on the dynamics of success measurement when quantifiable results are not readily available requires deep client-consultant collaboration and an ability to consider both near- and long-term client aspirations with market/policy dynamics – attributes that WPI brings to every consulting engagement.
