USDA Reports Soybean Plantings to Rise 6.5 Percent As expected, yesterday's USDA Prospective Plantings report found U.S. farmers intend to plant more soybeans in 2014. It indicated that soybean plantings this year will reach 81.493 million acres, a 6.5 percent rise over last year's plantings of 76.533 million acres and the most ever.
