Preliminary Duties Set on Argentine and Indonesian Biodiesel On Monday the Commerce Department announced preliminary antidumping duties on biodiesel imports from Argentina and Indonesia of 54.36-70.05 percent and 50.71 percent, respectively. The duties effectively stop those imports from both countries. The final rates will be announced in early January 2018. In response, the government of Indonesia announced that it would contest the antidumping duties at the WTO. The country’s biodiesel exports were worth $268 million in 2016. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment.
