Forecasts for Brazil’s Soybean Crop Keep Increasing If the analysts in Brazil are correct, the soybean crop there will be huge this year. Yesterday Safras & Mercado raised its crop forecast by 1.7 MMT to 115.6 MMT, which would be a record high and up from last year’s 114.2 MMT. The increase was based on the firm’s forecast of higher yields in the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo. It indicated that developoment plus a 1.44 million hectare increase in plantings more than made up for problems in the states of Mato Grosso and Parana.
