If participants’ findings are correct, the U.S. is almost certain to harvest a record soybean crop with even the record yield of 52 bushels acre possibly surpassed. The only areas where the crop tour found somewhat disappointing soybean fields were in southern Iowa and southern Minnesota. The problem has been drought in the former and too much rain in the latter. Missouri and Kansas were not part of the crop tour, but both are likely to have smaller-than-average crops also because of drought. Meanwhile, Nebraska, South Dakota, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois may have record soybean yields this year, and Iowa may be close to a record...
