Appropriations. Last Friday, the Senate passed an amended appropriations bill for the remaining FY26 funding shortfall. The measure included a two-week continuing resolution for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) budget, allowing more time for lawmakers to negotiate further Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reforms. That bill did not make it through the House, however, leaving the federal government partially shut down.
