Ask Mayors How to Farm The 80th Winter Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors was held in Washington this week.  At least half of the Obama Administration's Cabinet participated along with Thomas Friedman of the New York Times.  Populist food czars Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser did not attend, but that is because the big city mayors have already adopted their plan.The mayors' Food Policy Task Force talked about "reducing obesity, increasing access to healthy affordable food in low-income communities, and increasing local food procurement and entrepreneurship in cities."  Basically, the mayors have never farmed but they're persuaded that local urban farming will bring "More Jobs; for Better Health and for Stronger C...
