Unsustainable UN Reports: The UN's recent report, "Sustainable Development in the 21st century," is like most publications from the organization: a ray of truth shaded in flakiness. The UN contacted four outside groups for input but it was an unbalanced mix. The International Policy Council was the most business friendly, but well to the left were EcoAgriculture Partners and the Worldwatch Institute, and the Keystone Center was more focused on environment. The result is an understandable concern about the additional burden placed on land by livestock and biofuel systems, and then a purely philosophical rant against the system that produces most of the world's food.
