The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) sent a letter last Friday to Ron Kirk, the U.S. Trade Representative, regarding U.S. ethanol exports to Brazil. The letter calls for a "more fair and free trade agreement between Brazil and the U.S. with respect to ethanol," so that the U.S. industry will not continue to "suffer unnecessarily from artificial barriers erected to protect the Brazilian fuel market." RFA specifically raises two issues as "unfair and discriminatory" toward U.S. ethanol exports:
