The Energy and Power subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee held the first of two marathon hearings on the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) today with 16 witnesses scheduled. The hearing topic was an Overview of the RFS: Stakeholder Perspectives and was not necessarily aligned with the Committee white papers that are forthcoming on various topics.According to the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), the RFS has been an unmitigated success by virtually any measure but especially underscored was the dependence on imported petroleum and the lowering of gasoline prices.
