The U.S. and EU attacked China’s subsidies at the WTO’s trade policy review of Beijing’s practices. Not only does China have huge state subsidies, but it also fails to report them to the world body. China rebuffed the two by demanding an end to the subsidies to agriculture given by Washington and Brussels. That is an attractive bargain for the West.
