Seeing Red

California is by far the largest tomato producing state with Florida far behind. However, California processes most of the tomatoes, leaving Florida’s production more subject to the impacts of trade. U.S. fresh tomato imports have been increasing at about 0.4 percent per year, with Mexico and Canada the primary suppliers. However, thus far in 2022 (January – July), fresh tomato imports are up 1.4 percent. This has caused an outcry from the Florida growers directed at Mexico.  Hothouse tomatoes are the largest category of imported tomatoes but are a Canada specialty. Infrastructure investment due diligence

On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
