Since agricultural commodities are fungible and tradeable, no region of the world is immune to global price pressures. However, the impact of food price changes has evolved over time. In the early aughts, food price inflation had a greater impact on Europe and North America, and especially on Oceania. Africa and Latin America were the least impacted regions.
