Reports indicated that the global pandemic caused a resurgence in the consumption of orange juice under the belief that its high vitamin C content strengthens the immune system. If there was a rebound, it was a small and short one. Between 2014/15 and 2018/19, global orange juice consumption fell on an annual average of -3.86 percent. From 2018/19 to 2019/20, consumption increased by a modest 0.07 percent. However, this year’s estimate is that consumption will resume declining, losing -1.61 percent in demand destruction.  While the vitamin C is good and the pulp supplies roughage, consumers typically view it as having a high sugar content. Communicating importance of value-added products

Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
