Slapped and Squirming: Less than a week after a federal judge ruled that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) had exceeded its authority by mandating that fuel blenders use nearly 433 times more cellulosic fuel than was produced by the biofuels industry, the agency announced today that blenders must use 61 percent more cellulosic. The court chided EPA for following the false claims of production by cellulosic producers and then fining their captive customers for the shortfalls.
