A substantial portion of Brazil’s soybean-growing areas have been very dry in recent weeks, though some areas got a minor respite last week. Unfortunately, amounts received were highly variable. The largest amounts of rain were about 2 inches (50.8 mm), but in most areas the amount was only one-fourth as much. Temperatures have also been quite warm. The dryness of the last few weeks has primarily been in Parana and Mato Grosso do Sul but has now spread into Mato Grosso and Goiás. The driest part of Mato Grosso is in the eastern part of the state, but it also has been dry in parts of the central and western parts of the state. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
