In a story last week that largely went unnoticed, Farm Futures published the results of its survey regarding U.S. farmers’ planting intentions for 2019. While it is early to be concerned about next year’s acres when the 2018 corn and soybean harvests haven’t really started, following is what the 20 July-2 August survey of 924 growers found (changes from USDAS’s 2018 estimates are noted in parentheses):
