I participated in two large wheat conferences over the past two weeks. One was the ALIM conference in Merida, Mexico, and the other was for wheat buyers and millers from the north Asian region. Here are some thoughts from these conferences.

World wheat supplies continue to slowly shrink. This is especially true among the world's major wheat exporting countries, as we reported last week. One of the messages for the north Asian meeting was that wheat acres, especially in North America, will continue to be under pressure from other cropping choices, particularly corn and soybeans.
