The U.S. drought continues to worsen, particularly across the central Southern Plains where the HRW wheat crop is produced. The weekly crop ratings have continued to decline, with the percentage of the crop rated good to excellent now at the lowest level ever. The ratings will decline again in the weeks ahead based on current weather forecasts. Temperatures will set record highs from South Dakota all the way to Oklahoma and Texas.
