The December WASDE met everyone's expectations, which is to say that without fresh production estimates for U.S. corn and soybeans, it was broadly unexciting. In terms of market fundamentals, we judge the report to be slightly bearish for wheat, just about neutral for corn and mildly supportive for the soy complex. The key takeaway for us is that the overall U.S. and world supply and demand outlook has not changed much, if any, as traders wait on January's much more important quarterly stocks report, final corn and soybean production estimates, winter wheat planted acreage and the resulting supply and demand adjustments.This is not to say that today's WASDE is without interest or significance.
