USMCA’s Timid Opposition A coalition of 600 business groups wrote a letter urging the U.S. Congress to quickly pass the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The demand is unsurprising but what is notable is the lack of a choreographed campaign of opposition to the USMCA. Over 1,500 civil society groups ran an organized opposition campaign against the TPP. While some of these groups also oppose USMCA and all other trade agreements, they are making at best a low-key effort to stop it.
